Waimakariri District

Waimakariri District is located in the Canterbury region of New Zealand’s South Island. The district spans an area of approximately 2,219 square kilometers and is bordered to the south by the Waimakariri River, from which it derives its name. To the north lies the Hurunui District, and the district's western boundary reaches into the foothills of the Southern Alps, while its eastern boundary meets the Pacific Ocean. The district is characterized by a mix of rural landscapes, small towns, and suburban developments.[1][2]
